Description:
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle, the go-to source for news and information in picturesque southwest Montana, is seeking a general assignment reporter for one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.
Our new staff member will have a wide-open canvas to report on everything from local government, public safety and health to natural resources, schools and rural landscapes extending into Yellowstone National Park. You’ll cover meetings and events but also write features about our fascinating people and take deeper dives into issues you’ll hear debated in coffee shops and brewpubs.
If you love the outdoors, this is indeed the Last Best Place. We strive for work-life balance that opens your backdoor to a lifetime of adventures and reinvigorates you for work. We are less than 90 minutes from the wild wonders of Yellowstone, a short drive to skiing at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky, and a fly cast away from some of the world’s great blue-ribbon trout streams – and we routinely write about them all.
Bozeman, home to Montana State University, is a vibrant, active and family-friendly community with wide-ranging cultural experiences. And if you’re looking for the solitude of a quintessential Montana experience, our mountains, rivers and wide-open spaces are mere minutes away.
Our readers value the Chronicle for our impartial quest for truth, objectivity and fairness. We are a digital-first newsroom while also producing five print editions per week plus a sixth E-edition.
The Chronicle, a flagship paper in the expanding Adams MultiMedia family, offers a competitive salary based on experience, a comprehensive health plan, paid time off and discretionary retirement contributions.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
Send your cover letter, resume, links to clips and all other relevant information to Editor-In-Chief Jeff Welsch at jwelsch@dailychronicle.com.
