Job Title: News Reporter
Job Summary:
The Marietta Daily Journal is seeking an energetic and versatile News Reporter. This full-time position is ideal for a strong storyteller who excels in traditional reporting. The successful candidate will cover breaking news, enterprise, feature stories and beat reporting to produce content across print and digital.
Key Responsibilities:
Report, write, and fact-check daily news stories for print and digital publication
Cover beats as assigned.
Conduct interviews in person, by phone, and on camera
Use social media to report, promote stories, and engage audiences
Adhere to journalistic ethics and newsroom standards
Some holiday and weekend work required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong reporting, writing, and editing skills
Experience shooting video a plus
Comfortable working flexible hours, including nights and weekends as news demands
Position available February 2026.
