Job Title: News Reporter

Job Summary:
The Marietta Daily Journal is seeking an energetic and versatile News Reporter. This full-time position is ideal for a strong storyteller who excels in traditional reporting.  The successful candidate will cover breaking news, enterprise, feature stories and beat reporting to produce content across print and digital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report, write, and fact-check daily news stories for print and digital publication

  • Cover beats as assigned.

  • Conduct interviews in person, by phone, and on camera

  • Use social media to report, promote stories, and engage audiences

  • Adhere to journalistic ethics and newsroom standards

  • Some holiday and weekend work required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong reporting, writing, and editing skills

  • Experience shooting video a plus

  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including nights and weekends as news demands

Position available February 2026.
