Description:
Visual Journalist-Summer Internship, St. Louis
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch photo and video team is seeking a college student or recent graduate to join our staff as a visual journalism intern this summer.
Our ideal visual journalist is a positive team player who can hit the ground running and is enthusiastic about finding and telling great stories visually. We're looking for someone who has a strong grasp of how to best engage audiences on our website and social media.
You would be a full-time visual journalist and part of a talented and supportive newsroom in a vibrant metro area of nearly 3 million people.
You'd work with reporters, editors, photographers and independently produce photos, galleries and videos on a range of topics from fast-paced breaking news to deadline sports, community news and features.
When you have no assignment, we want you out in the community, exploring and producing quality work.
This is a paid internship. Experience with prior
photo/video internships is not mandatory but is a definite plus.
We provide Canon R3s and RF lenses; a closet full of gear; a MacBook Pro outfitted with Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and Photo Mechanic; and a wireless hotspot.
You provide dependable transportation, a smartphone and
housing. Work-related mileage is reimbursed. The schedule will include
nights and weekends.
To apply, please send a resume, a link to an online portfolio of your best photo and video work, a cover letter and 3 references.
Application due by end of day Jan. 19, 2026.
