About Arkansas Life

Arkansas Life is a social-first product designed specifically for younger readers (ages 25-44). This new digital venture from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is dedicated to informing, inspiring and empowering the next generation of Arkansans to live their best lives. We provide free, relevant and digestible content — curated guides, insider tips, and events — through a website, newsletter and social channels, aiming to make local life easier, smarter and more fun.

The Arkansas Life brand was established in 2008 as a free high-society and lifestyle magazine for Arkansas Democrat-Gazette subscribers. It evolved over the years and underwent a full redesign in 2017, focusing more on news features and pieces that highlighted the best of what the state had to offer. The magazine ceased publication in 2020 amid financial struggles.

While this new social-first product will use the same name, its focus will be on content and platforms where young people are searching for local information, rather than relying on traditional, legacy news products and systems, and it will operate independently from the Democrat-Gazette newsroom.
