Copy Editor-Digital Producer-Lincoln, NE

The Lincoln Journal Star is seeking a full-time, talented digital producer/copy editor who excels at ed­­­­iting local stories and who takes pride in developing and executing a plan to share our work with readers on print and online platforms during evenings. 

Are you skilled at writing headlines that are specific, creative, accurate and captivating?  The successful candidate will be digital-savvy, detail-oriented, precise, have the ability to meet deadlines and communicate clearly and concisely with editors, peers and the Lee Design Center. We are seeking an innovator with an interest in news, sports and features who will work as part of a winning newsroom-wide team to engage our loyal audience and bring in new readers. In the role, the successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate with news and sports editors to manage content to assist in editing stories, coordinating layouts with Lee Design Center and proofing pages.
  • Coordinate with online editors to manage content and carry out social media strategies.
  • Assist in coordinating coverage on evening breaking news events.

Previous experience is preferred, but recent graduates who can demonstrate a high level of ability and have successfully completed internships are encouraged to apply!
