News and Engagement Editor
The Daily Hampshire Gazette seeks an experienced opinion page and local news editor to be part of a hardworking team of journalists focused on covering Hampshire County in western Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and editing a high volume of daily editorial submissions while assisting with a broad range of editorial needs. This is a position that requires serious multi-tasking skills, an open mind, and an unwavering commitment to accuracy and fairness. Candidates should have exceptional editing, fact-checking and writing skills, as the position involves working with a diverse readership writing on complex topics of the day.
Additionally, candidates are expected to help edit and publish local news, deliver constructive feedback to writers and reporters and play a key role in the newspaper's digital transformation with the aim of serving readers across multiple platforms and growing its audience.
The news and engagement editor must be a team player who will be asked to work occasional nights or weekends. The position is based in Northampton, MA.
