Award-winning newspaper seeks versatile, passionate reporter
The Pharos-Tribune, an award-winning, five-day a week newspaper, publishing news digitally 24-7, is seeking a full-time general assignment news reporter who can react quickly to developing stories and shift gears for deep dives into news of consequence.
The position is responsible for general assignment news coverage, with a focus on education, business and health.
The successful candidate will be passionate about journalism, have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and have solid training in news writing and reporting. Candidates should have a strong grasp of AP Style. Must have an ability to think strategically about digital coverage and a willingness to meet readers’ information needs in an engaging, high-impact way.
The candidate should be competent and comfortable working with social media sites. Digital storytelling, photography and video skills are a plus.
The Pharos-Tribune offers a positive work atmosphere in a North Central Indiana region known for its diversity and recreation opportunities. The Pharos-Tribune is owned by CNHI, LLC.
Logansport is located in Cass County, Indiana, about 80 miles north of Indianapolis and 70 miles south of South Bend.
The P-T publishes print editions Tuesday through Saturday.
