Raw Story is seeking a dynamic, relentless Breaking News Reporter to elevate our rapid-fire coverage of national politics, social justice, and extremism. This is a high-impact role for a journalist with at least three years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom — someone who thrives under pressure and has a proven track record of breaking exclusive angles that leave competitors scrambling.

This is not a position for an aggregator or a trainee. The right candidate will possess exceptional instincts, impeccable reporting skills, and the determination to own the biggest stories of the day.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Break original stories by uncovering fresh details and unique angles that drive the national conversation.

• Demonstrate sharp judgment on what will resonate with a broad, engaged national audience.

• Maintain deep knowledge and interest in the nonstop, 24/7 breaking news cycle.

• Exhibit outstanding reporting skills, tenacity, and the ability to work quickly under intense deadlines.

• Consistently deliver work that sets the pace for the competition.
