FloridaPolitics.com is seeking an aggressive, web-savvy reporter for an immediate opening on its growing team. Based in the Tampa Bay area, this role focuses on the St. Petersburg/Tampa political beat, covering municipal, county, and state issues. We are looking for a journalist who can set the news agenda by building strong sources and breaking news ahead of other outlets.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of reporting experience, a deep knowledge of local government, and a talent for crafting compelling stories. You must be able to write and edit accurate, high-quality content under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a solid grasp of AP Style.

This position requires a journalist who understands real-time online reporting and can create multimedia packages, including video and photos. Proficiency with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook is essential for proactive political coverage. Familiarity with photo editing and professional camera equipment is a plus.

Applicants must possess strong organizational skills, a flexible schedule with availability on nights and weekends, and reliable transportation.
