Description:

The Riverton Ranger and Lander Journal, both twice weekly newspapers, along with the weekly Wind River News and the WyoToday radio network, seek a reporter who wants to be a part of it all, from telling touching feature stories to compelling enterprising reports. Fremont County is home to several colleges, a diverse local economy, and is a mecca for outdoor activities – including the beautiful Sinks Canyon State Park (a climber’s dream) and Wind River Canyon. The Wind River Reservation is home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes, and is the seventh-largest American reservation by size and the fifth-largest by population.

We're seeking a new reporter who either has some experience working in the news industry or at their college newspaper or radio station, or who is eager to learn the trade on the job. Our managing editor has helped teach seven reporters who were named New Journalists of the Year and she's excited to bring a new reporter onto the team. Because this is a general assignment position, you'll have the opportunity to cover all kinds of issues, and we can tailor your assignments to the things that you're most interested in covering. There are some opportunities in the worlds of sports and radio for candidates interested in reporting in those areas.

We're an employee owned company and offer a generous benefits package, and for a reporter looking to relocate, we’ve got housing help available. Wyoming boasts no state income tax.

Apply today by sending your resume, a letter explaining your interest, and a few writing samples (it's OK if they're not newspaper stories) to sarah@wyotoday.com
