Description:
Great Reporter Needed for A Great Job
An exceptional opportunity awaits for an experienced news reporter who loves policy and politics (in that order), chases the news energetically, hustles to develop a strong source base, and can write clean, excellent copy on tight deadlines. The State House News Service, a non-partisan, must-read state government news source, seeks a full-time reporter to augment our coverage of all three branches of government. Reporters are expected to:
- Report and write short news briefs and longer stories on a daily basis for a discriminating readership of government leaders and political and policy insiders;
- Hunt for news (in person and virtually) in and around the State House and executive agencies and bring it to our subscribers on a variety of platforms;
- Supply gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Massachusetts House and Senate while scanning those sessions for news items and stories.
We’re looking for a news reporter with at least 5 years of hard news experience. Competitive salary; excellent benefits; good hours. Background in Massachusetts public affairs reporting a significant plus.
If you’re interested, tell us why you would be a great fit at a premier source of state government news. Clips and resumes should go to George Donnelly, gdonnelly@statehousenews.com.
