The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner is seeking an energetic, experienced news editor to drive local news across multiple platforms, including growing website, mobile and social media. This person will coordinate priorities for a small but mighty team of newspaper reporters. The right candidate will be someone who likes to be active in our community.
The ideal candidate for this job is driven by the desire to tell stories and create factual content that speaks to people with integrity, accessibility, clarity, and occasional levity. Our news editor should have exceptional journalistic and intellectual rigor as a baseline. S/he should have the ability and desire to manage the creation of a large, very detailed body of content.
The ideal candidate has a "get it done" outlook. This is a 100% hands-on, do what's needed, roll-up your sleeves environment.
