Description:

Las Vegas is as dynamic a news market as anywhere in the country, and the Review-Journal is the area’s dominant news source. Southern Nevada is home to about 2.3 million people, plus up to 200,000 visitors on any given day. It is a diverse metro area with a vibrant downtown and cultural scene, and it is a half-day drive or less to some of the West’s most spectacular outdoor recreation and national parks.

We are looking for a Digital Content Producer to join our team.

The Digital producer plays a key role in achieving the company’s digital audience and growth targets. They will work collaboratively with a range of teams within the Review-Journal to develop engaging, compelling content across various Review-Journal affiliated websites and social media platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in SEO best practices and analytic tools including video players, G4 Analytics, Marfeel analytics, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • News writing following AP and Review-Journal standards.
  • Maintain and manage online content budget.
  • Produce breaking news content for the website
  • Check all content for accuracy and ensure it meets RJ journalistic standards.
  • Edit and upload content using appropriate software
  • Improve content engagement rates by adding visual elements such as images, videos, and infographics
  • Produce and curate daily content uploads in a variety of content management systems.
  • Produce engaging social media content including video, images and gifs.
  • Keep abreast of local, national, and international news events and politics
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the newsroom and other departments on various projects as required.
  • Be a flexible team player and multi-tasking expert with a high tolerance for stress when working on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work flexible hours as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Generate story ideas and identify trending topics through research of internal content analytics, social media, news wires, websites and contacts.

Requirements:

  • Possess a proven passion for local journalism and understand its importance in the local community
  • Degree in journalism, multimedia arts, communications, or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Effectively works in a fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience with analytics and metrics reporting.
  •  Ability to manage projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as a team player in the newsroom and build news contacts in the community.
  • Write, edit video with speed, efficiency and creativity in studio, newsroom, or field environment.
  • Experience working with the following platforms preferred:
  • AP, Premiere After Effects, LiveU, Wordpress, Merlin, GPS, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Social News Desk
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
