Are you a curious, go-getting journalist with a passion for our community?

Local Daily Media is seeking an entry level multimedia journalist for our local news
publication, Port City Daily (PCD).

We are seeking a motivated candidate who is passionate about journalism, thrives in a fast-
paced environment and is able to adapt in the ever-changing world of digital production.

Duties:

• Conduct research and interviews
• Write multiple news articles/features daily
• Build professional relationships within communities that we serve
• Shoot photographs and/or videos to accompany written pieces
• Provide content for presentation on a variety of digital platforms
  (WordPress, social media, etc.)
• Work independently to meet deadlines and exceed expectations
• Maintain regular communication with the editor regarding creative planning and
  performance
• Attend meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• An associate’s degree or comparable experience
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
• A commitment to digital and multimedia storytelling
  
• An organized self-starter who works well independently
• Seek story ideas and work on multiple projects at once
• Meet measurable goals as set forth by editor
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within flexible hours that may
  include nights, holidays and weekends

Candidates will be asked to submit a portfolio of work upon request.
