Description:
We are looking for a part-time or freelance reporter to write hard news stories on national gun policy and politics. We're hoping to find someone who can contribute reported pieces of 600-1000 words once or twice per week. We're willing to work on a per-piece basis or pay for a specific number of pieces per week/month. There is also the potential for the role to grow into a full-time position with a profit share.
An understanding of and experience with firearms and the politics surrounding them is preferred, but can also be taught on the job.
The Reload is an independent, subscriber-supported publication founded by award-winning journalist Stephen Gutowski. It is dedicated to accurately reporting the details and nuances of big gun stories. It sheds light on under-reported aspects of gun ownership in America. It informs rather than misleads or enrages.
