Responsibilities:
1. Editorial Leadership: Lead the editorial team in planning, assigning, and producing content that engages and informs our audience.
2. Content Curation: Oversee the selection and editing of articles, features, and opinion pieces to ensure quality and relevance.
3. Newsroom Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the newsroom, including scheduling, content budgeting, and resource allocation.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including advertising, marketing, and subscriber services to align content with organizational goals.
5. Community Engagement: Foster relationships with readers, community leaders, and stakeholders to better understand local issues and perspectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in journalism, with at least 2 years in an editorial leadership role.
- Strong editorial judgment and news sense, with a keen eye for storytelling and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in digital media tools and platforms, including content management systems and social media.
