Description:

The Idaho Press is seeking a talented journalist to fill a vacant reporting position on its staff.

We cover Idaho’s Treasure Valley, a fast-growing and vibrant region in the southern part of the state stretching from Boise to the Oregon border. We have offices in Boise and Nampa and cover a wide variety of topics ranging from local and state politics to education; from outdoor recreation to community growth; from public safety to arts and entertainment.

Applicants should have strong reporting skills; writing and digital chops; clean grammar and knowledge of AP Style; and a solid work ethic.

We work in a competitive market, going toe to toe with a number of print and digital publications, and television stations.

A nose for digital journalism is a must, with the ideal candidate bringing an aptitude for breaking news and an eye for unique storytelling. Additionally, we are the state’s largest print-circulated newspaper and publish six days a week, meaning the job entails writing for both our print edition and website.

Home to Boise State University and the State Capitol, the area has experienced some of the nation's fastest growth, while also dominating national lists as a great place to live. On your time off you can pursue adventures such as camping, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, snowboarding and whitewater rafting all within a short drive from your front door. Downtown Boise is also a draw, featuring a lively atmosphere with good entertainment, restaurants and nightlife.

To apply, email your resume, 3-5 clips and references to News Editor Madison Guernsey at mguernsey@idahopress.com and Managing Editor Teddy Feinberg at tfeinberg@idahopress.com
