Copy Editor

Description:

Capital Press seeks a full time copy editor. The duties will include: 

• Editing reporter and correspondent copy
• Assisting with the posting of stories to the website
• Assisting with social media postings
• Assisting with newsletter production
• Assisting with page proofing
• Assisting with special section planning

Successful candidate should have at least five years of news editing experience; news judgment; familiarity with AP style; photo editing skills; familiarity with social media and analytics. Knowledge of agriculture and natural resource issues is a plus. This position is based in our downtown Salem, Oregon office, and the company is open to a hybrid work arrangement.  Exceptional candidates may be eligible for fully remote work but must live within Oregon or Idaho.  This is a full-time position, scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, typically during standard business hours.
