The award-winning Fort Bend Herald is seeking a full-time general assignments reporter. The Herald is located in Rosenberg, Texas, 20 minutes from Houston. The Herald has won numerous awards at journalism contests nationwide, including two first-place awards in the National Newspaper Association Better Newspaper Contest. What does that mean? It means Herald reporters have plenty of source material for award-winning stories that will help catapult their careers to higher-paying jobs at more prestigious newspapers. The Herald’s general assignment reporter will have the opportunity to report on fires, murders, city council meetings, school board meetings, commissioners court meetings, as well as write feature stories, movie/book/restaurant reviews, editorials, columns and event sports.
