Description:

The Maine Trust for Local News, part of the nonprofit National Trust for Local News, is hiring a full-time copy editor/web producer for the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel newspapers and Centralmaine.com. This person will be responsible for creating crisp and engaging page designs; copy editing stories; writing accurate and compelling headlines; curating content for the website and promoting that content on social media channels; and setting and changing priorities when handling breaking news and making deadline. The copy editor and web producer must also demonstrate good news judgment, strong copy editing skills, proficiency with Associated Press style and thorough knowledge of local, state and national news. Applicants should expect to work nights, with some weekend and holiday shifts.
