Online Editor
Full time, 60% work from office/40% work from home
(First two months, 80% work from office, 20% work from home)

Summary


The Online Editor of TABLE Magazine will collaborate with the Editor in Chief and Publisher in
shaping the company’s online content and social strategies and lead implementation of them.
The quality of TABLE’s online content must be at the same level of excellence as its print
publications, even as it incorporates the interests and passions of online readers, and helps
grow TABLE’s presence in the online media landscape.
The Online Editor will create content as well as and direct staff and freelancers in their content
production. In doing so, a blend of office time and remote work will be deployed, with regular
contact with leadership and a growing network of freelance contributors. The role is a blend of
creative and management skillsets, requiring talent, insight, people skills, and a finger on the
pulse of internet and social media audiences.
Knowledge of best practices for SEO results is required, as is understanding of Wordpress
loaning, formatting, and metadata.

Responsibilities


Website: Manage and contribute to the refinement of TABLE Magazine’s website.
Frequency and quality of online publishing must stay in balance and represent the
organization’s interest in insightful and inspiring lifestyle content. Trends which
engage readers online must influence what content is developed. Innovation in the
formatting of online content a major factor here, as is optimization of SEO factors
within online formats. Digital-first content is also a major factor.


Newsletters and social media: Evolution and innovation in newsletters and social
posts that bring this online content to the attention of readers across all platforms.


Marketing: Assist in the formation of digital marketing strategies and in developing
the digital assets needed to fulfill them.


Video: Guide the organizations evolution into video content.

Management: Everyday duties are a part of the role, including participating in photo
shoots and other events as needed, issuing freelancer contracts, ensuring proper
flow of invoices to accounts payable, maintaining archives, and communication
challenges, opportunities and progress to Editor in Chief and Publisher.


     Significant metrics


     6-8 Articles published online each day, representing a combination of content drawn
     from archives and new print issues, content generated by staff and freelancers, and
     content generated by the Online Editor.
     65% of these articles need to touch on current events and significant online trends
     35% can be food and drink recipes and other in-house content
     3 Videos and reels a week, produced by staff, freelances, Online Editor

     Significant goals

     300% growth in online readers YOY
     10% growth in email sign ups YOY
     20% growth in social media followings YOY
