Position Overview |
The Director would serve as a coach and mentor to O’Brien fellows, providing advice on tackling major investigative and public service projects, including working with editors from the fellows’ home organizations. In addition, the Director would serve as the program’s public face, host the O’Brien conferences, engage in public outreach and recruiting of O’Brien fellows, manage the budget, and work with and mentor the O’Brien program’s student employees. The director is also expected to teach journalism courses and to fulfill other service duties associated with the position. |

1. Supervising O’Brien fellows and O’Brien interns in reporting and placing their projects for publication |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Bachelor’s degree required. |
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
M.A. or advanced degree preferred. History of work guiding students or young professionals. Willingness and ability to teach journalism courses including investigative journalism; comfort handling administrative tasks. |
