Description:

Here’s your chance to report news that people want to read in a place that wants to do it right, all in an up-and-coming city that remains surprisingly affordable.

The Lima News has an opening for a police and courts reporter. Your stories will be among the most-read stories by our readers, who can’t get enough of our coverage of the crimes happening here. The city itself is fairly safe, but it’s impacted by the drug trades up and down Interstate 75. Drug-related crimes, including homicides, often command our attention.

We’re open to someone just breaking into the business who might benefit from coaching by veteran editors or to an experienced reporter who wants to help us reinvent how we tell people the news that’s relevant to them.

We’re an award-winning newspaper in West Central Ohio the maintains the region's dominant news website seven days a while while creating a print edition twice a week. We value accuracy, diversity and urgency in everything we do. We're looking for the right mix of inquisitive, creative and practical to help us remain a must-read for our news-savvy audience.

Send your resume, cover letter and at least three writing samples to David Trinko, Editor; The Lima News; 205 W. Market St.; Lima, OH 45801, or dtrinko@limanews.com

When applying, mention you saw this opening listed at JournalismJobs.com.
