North Carolina Public Radio WUNC, Chapel Hill

North Carolina Public Radio WUNC is hiring a News Social Media Producer based out of its Durham office.

The News Social Media Producer creates and distributes news content on WUNC’s social media channels and wunc.org.  The News Social Media Producer develops story ideas, researches topics, conducts interviews, and produces meaningful content for WUNC. The News Social Media Producer also aggregates and edits social and digital content created by other WUNC reporters and producers. The position is responsible for reporting and producing original stories for online publication and, on occasion, for broadcast.

The News Social Media Producer reports to WUNC’s Supervising Editor for Digital News and may back up that editor as needed. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

A Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of journalism experience is required.

WUNC is headquartered in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) of North Carolina.  It’s often rated among the top areas to live in the country.  The ocean and mountains are just a few hours away. The salary range for this position is $50,000-70,000 and benefits are competitive.
