Description:
If you are looking to gain a well-rounded experience at a weekly community newspaper, this is the position for you. Based in a farming/ranching community of 3,000 in northeast Montana, this position entails general writing duties including some evening meetings, as well as basic photography to accompany stories. An inquisitive nature, ability to work independently and strong writing skills are a must. Position duties could include everything from government to features to sports, depending on the interests of the successful candidate — all under the general supervision of the publisher. Adobe InDesign and Photoshop experience required. Full-time permanent benefits include health insurance and paid vacation. Candidates interested in a summer internship position only will also be considered. Small one-bedroom efficiency apartment included with the position. Northeast Montana is a great area for outdoor activities. With Fort Peck Reservoir just 45 minutes away, opportunities for camping, boating, fishing and hunting are plentiful.
