The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is searching for a steadfast individual to take up the role of News Editor. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead our team of page designers/copy editors in crafting compelling content for our daily and weekly newspapers. We are looking for a seasoned newsroom leader with a proven track record of success.

The ideal candidate for this pivotal role will bring extensive experience in daily newspaper operations and newsroom management. They will play a crucial role in overseeing the desk, ensuring the production of high-quality content with captivating design and engaging headlines while adhering to deadlines. Additionally, the role entails various other responsibilities as assigned.

The News Editor must exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to make timely decisions. Effective communication skills and the flexibility to adapt to breaking news situations are essential. Exceptional internal and external customer service capabilities are a must. Proficiency in the Associated Press style is required, as is proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
