Position: Health Feature Reporter

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Health Feature Reporter to produce in-depth, insightful articles on health and wellness topics. The ideal candidate will excel at finding unique story angles, be capable of delving deep into an issue, possess excellent research and interview skills, and write in an engaging, accessible, and accurate manner under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate unique and reader-relevant story ideas while monitoring health news and trends. 

• Conduct multiple interviews and in-depth research, including analysis of research papers and industrial data.

• Write compelling, engaging features. Capture complex and sometimes nuanced or conflicting findings with careful accuracy.

• Maintain high performance under tight deadlines and ensure timely publication.

Qualifications:

• At least 2-3 years of experience, preferably in health or science journalism.

• A deep enthusiasm for health, with a strong ability to find unique perspectives around trends or existing problems that haven’t been covered.

• Excellent interview, research, and fact-checking skills. An ability to dig deep into an issue and capture all critical elements. 

• Exceptional writing skill. An ability to write clear, concise, and engaging stories that guide readers through complex topics with ease.

• Highly self-motivated, possessing strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexible in working irregular hours.

Pay range: $200-$500 per article. The quoted pay range per article represents our good faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range according to the selected candidate's experience, location, technical skills, and other factors.
