Specific brand responsibilities include:

  • Grasp complex technical information and communicate it in compelling ways
  • Contribute featured content, via articles, videos, podcasts and other forms of digital media, with thorough research and original, accurate reporting
  • Manage production process of monthly emagazine, including proofing pages, tracking page flow and communicating with design staff on changes
  • Review Plant of the Year Award nominations
  • Develop, build and maintain industry contacts for interviews and content; maintain and strengthen brand by developing productive relationships with industry associations, research firms, suppliers, food and beverage processors and other potential content sources
  • Monitor audience stats on a weekly basis and report gains; develop strategies to increase engagement and registration counts
  • Ensure that all content is of top quality, error-free and in accordance with established schedules
  • Participate and aid in the planning and execution of editorial strategies
  • Collaborate with editorial team to develop pertinent story ideas for technical audience
  • Collaborate brand team and appropriate BNP Media staff on the look, feel and user experience with all products
  • Meet all deadlines, multi-task projects and submit error-free copy
  • Break news on prominent issues


Website/eNewsletter/Social Media/Multimedia and Events

  • Provide content online for breaking news; research, write and post news items; post news on social media
  • Manage online-first production schedules and postings of magazine
  • Write and post content for weekly e-newsletter
  • Create podcasts, videos and other multimedia content on a regular basis, both as part of planned editorial coverage and as other opportunities arise
  • Engage readers through interactive means
  • Work with edit team to participate in daily breaking news and social media updates
  • Moderate webinars as needed
  • Develop rich content through curation and optimization; Engage audiences across multiple social networks and differentiate content depending on platform; Enhance SEO, open rates and clicks through choice of headlines and subject matter
  • Post news and links to articles on FE’s social media platforms
  • Monitor daily postings on social media outlets; report abuse to manager
  • Travel to attend industry events and conferences; schedule meetings with potential editorial sources or sales team clients
  • Manage and create written and multimedia content from plant tours and other events



  • Follow BNP Media’s code of ethics and Editorial Guidelines; maintain journalistic integrity.
  • Back up all materials and editorial files on a BNP Media server
  • Attend all BNP Media editorial training and webinars
  • Administrative duties as required
  • Adhere to all BNP Media policies as outlined in the staff manual
  • Travel /attend key industry events, including trade shows, conferences and manufacturer facilities
  • Other projects as assigned.

$50k-$65k annually
