FLSA Status: Full-Time

Location: Four Corners Region (SW CO / NW NM)

Reports to: CEO/Board of Directors                                 Regional Travel Required: 30-50%

Scope:

Ballantine Communications, Inc. (BCI) has a vacancy for a publisher. BCI (based in Durango, CO and covering the four corners region) has been family-owned since 1952 and operates two legacy newspapers, as well as a new startup daily paper that has significant potential. The company practices journalistic excellence and quality service to its advertisers. BCI has a strong digital presence, and also publishes directories and specialty magazines.

The publisher will report to the CEO and board of directors, and will be responsible for achieving the growth and success of the newspapers' multiple initiatives. Qualified candidates will have extensive newspaper leadership experience, strong management skills, a firm understanding of the changing media landscape, and the ability to generate revenue profitably. Previous executive experience is preferred. A successful publisher will inspire employees while providing the community with local news and supplying advertisers with ideal solutions to reach their target audience.
