 Digital Assistant Editor-Omaha World-Herald

As the assistant digital editor, this role serves as a back-up to the digital editor with an emphasis on local sports. This position would serve to maximize the World-Herald’s online/digital coverage of sports in the Omaha metro area which includes Omaha's two Division I universities, Creighton and UNO in addition to emerging sports such as local professional teams, including but not limited to the new Omaha Supernovas volleyball team, a yet to be named volleyball team within the League One Volleyball organization, the Omaha Storm Chasers baseball team and other large local sporting events.

While the position’s focus would be on the emerging sports market, this position would also be expected to assist with large events in more established areas such as Nebraska athletics and high school sports when needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in sports reporting, editing, creating and editing graphics and videos in programs such as Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, and Canva. Experience with multiple digital media platforms including social media is a must. A valid driver’s license and current proof of auto insurance is required.
