We are seeking a highly skilled Content Strategist to join our newsroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing content strategies that align with the organization's editorial mission and audience engagement goals. They will be responsible for identifying trends, developing a traffic playbook, incubating big content ideas, and managing assignment editors to ensure that all content is high-quality, informative, and relevant to our audience.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and implement content strategies that align with the organization's editorial mission and audience engagement goals.
- Identify industry trends and stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and advancements in content marketing.
- Develop and maintain a traffic playbook that outlines strategies for increasing traffic to our website and other online channels.
- Incubate big content ideas that have the potential to generate significant traffic, engagement, and leads.
- Manage a team of assignment editors to ensure that all content is high-quality, informative, and relevant to our audience.
- Develop and maintain content calendars that align with the editorial mission and goals of the organization.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to optimize content strategies and drive results.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure that all content is visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for SEO.
- Develop and implement social media strategies that promote content and engage with our audience.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, or a related field within a newsroom or media organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools.
- Experience managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams within a newsroom or media organization.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
