Job Summary:
We are looking for a Platform Strategist to join our newsroom or media organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing platform strategies that help us reach and engage our audiences across different digital platforms. They will be responsible for platform-specific algorithm optimization, emerging platform analysis, future-proofing, and managing our social media team to ensure that all content is effectively distributed and promoted across relevant platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement platform strategies that help us reach and engage our audiences across different digital platforms.
- Analyze and optimize platform-specific algorithms to increase reach, engagement, and traffic to our content.
- Monitor emerging platforms and trends, and provide recommendations on how to leverage them to reach our target audience.
- Future-proof our digital presence by staying up-to-date on the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including editorial, design, and development, to ensure that all content is optimized for each platform.
- Manage our social media team to ensure that all content is effectively distributed and promoted across relevant platforms.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, and use data-driven insights to optimize platform strategies.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with other organizations and platforms.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies related to digital platforms.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in platform strategy, social media management, or a related field within a newsroom or media organization.
- Strong understanding of digital platforms, algorithms, and social media best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams within a newsroom or media organization.
- Familiarity with social media management and monitoring tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
