The Role

If you are passionate about crafting communications that impact business outcomes, we want to hear from you! As a Senior Writer & Editor with the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT), you will develop and implement articles and blog posts, podcast, video and other communications that deliver on FCAT's mission to ignite emerging ideas and propel Fidelity into the future. FCAT is an in-house innovation engine. We conduct research, experiment, and build products and platforms that move Fidelity forward.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a journalist/writing professional.
  • Proven ability to write short and long form content and use creative storytelling to drive key messages.
  • You can spot a story in the making and produce it
  • Able to communicate sophisticated and/or technical content clearly and concisely
  • Identify content that has potential for new audiences; edit existing content to be appropriate and digestible for external use while maintaining tone and message
  • Develop a data-driven strategy for a consistent and relevant stream of content that aligns with current audience interests while also drawing in new audiences
  • Comfortable conducting interviews and research to uncover interesting news;
  • Ability to change tones and write about a variety of topics on behalf of leaders with vision;
  • Act on others creative concepts and work collaboratively to ensure the vision is reflected
  • Assist with SEO and keyword selection and measurement as appropriate
  • Stays current on the latest industry and business unit developments by studying different papers, communicating with thought-leaders, and following social media
  • Familiarity or interest in technology and blockchain/crypto field preferred
  • Bachelor's degree, voracious learner with a growth mindset
  • Comfortable as a self-starter and able to act independently under general direction

The Team

We are a versatile, entrepreneurial, and dedicated team of technologists, designers, researchers, and communicators. You will report to FCAT's Communications Manager. Internally, we bring the best of FCAT forward, improving collaboration and business unit partnership. Externally, we share our thought leadership and experiments to influence decision-making among talent prospects, prospective technology/startup partners, and Fidelity clients, among others.
