The Data Journalist will gather, analyze and report using data from public documents, filings from regulatory agencies, reports, studies and other material.


  • Conceive of creative ways to develop print and digital charts, infographics and other graphics to illustrate and support stories in different formats for website and newspaper. 

  • Collaborate with other reporters/editors to enhance their stories and create stand-alone content.


  • At least three years of professional journalism experience.

  • Previous data reporting experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree.


  • Work in our newsroom a minimum of four days per week, with remote work possible the fifth day.


  • Candidates should be well-versed in AP style.

  • Experience with Access and MySQL or Python 

  • Fluent in a second language a plus, but not required.

  • Candidates who advance beyond an initial phone interview will be required to take a writing test.
