The City Hall/Politics Reporter will have a penchant for finding stories that resonate with readers and telling them in an approachable yet informative style that specializes in enterprise reporting, not breaking news.
Report and write about governance, policy and politics with an emphasis on analytical and investigative pieces.
At least three years of professional journalism experience.
Previous government and/or political reporting experience.
In general, this reporter will be expected to write three or more stories per week.
Work in our newsroom and/or City Hall bureau a minimum of four days per week, with remote work possible on the fifth day.
Candidates should be well-versed in AP style.
Proficient in data analysis.
Adept at multimedia and the use of social media.
Fluent in a second language a plus, but not required.
Candidates who advance beyond an initial phone interview will be required to take a writing test.
