Our national award-winning B-to-B trade magazine has two openings for online business news reporters and content managers working onsite in Louisville, Colorado, midway between Denver and Boulder. Local candidates and candidates from across the country who are willing to relocate within winter-weather driving commutes to the office are encouraged to apply. As the ideal candidate for this position, you won’t mind working with your teammates in a small office. You are comfortable building relationships with many contacts in different states over time. You like doing phone interviews and writing 6-8 daily business and trend articles covering companies, business executives, financial topics, new products and associations.

You are an inquisitive person who is interested in learning about the RV industry quickly and thoroughly. You like business topics and are comfortable with numbers. Doing research to connect the dots and analytical thinking make your boat float.

You are adept at learning computer programs like MailChimp and WordPress if you don’t already know how to use them. You are comfortable with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. You are fine with sourcing and making simple adjustments to digital photos.

You have experience writing for weekly or daily publications under strict deadlines. You are a great interviewer. Your writing is clear, concise and error free and you are adept at writing quickly. You are fluent in AP Style and English grammar (yes, we will test you).

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing a minimum of two daily original business articles.
  • Collecting, researching and editing/re-writing up to eight additional articles daily.
  • Posting articles and photos to the company website.
  • Building and sending a daily e-newsletter.
  • Calling sources to gather source material, create relationships and request future story content.
  • Managing all website/digital content, including uploading videos and ads.
  • Contacting graphic artists to receive website and newsletter ad materials on or before deadline.
  • Attending nationwide industry trade shows up to four times each year.

Requirements include:

  • Experience writing news/business stories or public relations/similar relevant experience. We prefer candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Associated Press style.
  • Strong grammar and copy-editing skills.
  • Willingness to work the phones three to four hours a day, like a community news beat on a national level, calling sources to ferret out daily information for a niche audience.
  • Outgoing, friendly personality.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a focus in journalism or another closely related field.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Photoshop, WordPress and Mailchimp preferred.

Louisville, Colorado, is close to the Rockies, hiking and skiing. Walking trails are situated near the office as well as picnic tables with a clear view of the mountains for lunch breaks.

These positions provide a salary range of $42,000-$50,000 annually, depending on experience, with the potential for bonuses throughout the year based on company success. The positions include a full and generous suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and retirement.
