The Chronicle of Philanthropy is looking for a data reporter/producer to work with our accountability team.

Must have proven ability to:

  • Gather, analyze, and report using data from public documents such as IRS Form 990s, files from other regulatory agencies, reports, studies and academic research related to philanthropy and nonprofits
  • Look for creative ways to develop print and digital charts, infographics, and other graphics to illustrate and support stories in different formats for our monthly print magazine and website.
  • Work with data obtained in collaboration with other reporters/editors to enhance their stories or as stand-alone content.
  • Be collaborative

Skills Needed include:

  • Ability to program in a scripting/computer language in order to be able to manage and manipulate data and work with databases
  • Ability to create print and digital graphics
  • Related math skills
  • Strong news judgment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in data reporting.
