Description:

Freelance Investigative Reporter:

We’re looking for a kick-ass financial/courtroom journalist to join our talented, hard-working investigations/projects team.

Because of our work, we have exposed fraud at all levels and helped level the playing field for consumers and shareholders.

We want a hungry and talented journalist with demonstrated success on short-turn, mid-range and long-term investigative pieces. This reporter will maintain a focus on quick-turn investigative pieces that spin off court cases, financial frauds, and consumer rip-offs. You’ll need a storyteller’s touch and an eye for angles that promise context and accountability.

Our first priority is to find talented people and hire them for freelance projects. Do well, get steady work that can turn into a full-time job if you are that good!

What will move you to the top of our list:

• Proficiency with the financial markets, Bloomberg, Reuters, a finance background.

• You enjoy sifting through information, picking up the phone and knocking on doors to dig for information.

• A keen eye for critical stories that haven’t been told; stories that make a real difference in people’s lives.

• You still have the fierce, competitive edge of the underdog.

If you think you fit the bill, please send a resume, clips and a cover letter to carli@considertheconsumer.com. CTC is a drug-free and equal opportunity employer.

CTC is committed to building a diverse newsroom that reflects the people it covers and the audience it serves. Candidates are encouraged to highlight new perspectives they can bring to our team.
