The Enterprise-Journal, a five-days-per-week newspaper and website in McComb, Miss., has an opening for a reporter who will also contribute much to our online activity. Reporting and writing assignments will include crime and courts, local government and feature stories. An emerging aspect of the job is the assignment of shaping our online content — to get information to our online audience quickly, to encourage them to share their information or opinions on our site, and to let print readers know about the extra things they can find on our site. It's an opportunity for a recent graduate looking for the first step into journalism — or for someone with experience who is looking for a change into a stable situation without fear of job reductions, as we are privately owned by a Mississippi-based company. We offer medical insurance, a matching 401(k) program, paid sick leave and vacation. Send a résumé with three writing samples and three work references to Jack Ryan at email@example.com.
