Summary/Objective
We’re looking for an energetic and aggressive journalist who combines strong news judgment and quick decision-making skills with the kind of teaching/coaching approach to editing that turns promising reporters into great ones.
Essential Functions
You’ll work with reporters and editors on the breaking news team and across the newsroom — as well as visual journalists and our audience engagement team —to handle the biggest breaking news stories of the day. We'll also look to you to launch deeper enterprise off the news, and guide the team toward interesting stories that aren't staring us in the face. Convince us you are a phenom at making things happen -- and someone who is always looking for answers, rather than explaining why things can’t be done.
Competencies & Skills
- Five years experience as a working journalist, with at least two years as an editor
- Reporting and editing clips that demonstrate sharp news skills and meaningful journalistic impact
- The ability to juggle multiple stories on varying timelines
- Proficiency with analytics and audience engagement tools
- A passion for identifying, training, coaching and elevating talented journalists

Required Education
- 4-year college degree (journalism or related fields)
Required Experience
- Five years prior experience
Preferred Experience
- At least two years editing and five total years in the field
Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional office environment and at the Company and client sites for business meetings and presentations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position may be a permanent remote role.
