Who we are

The News Literacy Project (NLP), a national, nonpartisan education nonprofit, is seeking a Senior Manager of Education Design to join our research and design team. Founded in 2008, NLP is the leading provider of news literacy education for middle and high school students, primarily through its signature e-learning platform, Checkology®.

Where you fit in

NLP is poised to take on a greater national presence to meet the intense interest in its programs from school districts across the country while it works to build a national movement to advance the practice of news literacy in all sectors of American society. To reach our objectives, NLP is rapidly expanding its capacity. This is a great opportunity for you to lead the development of an innovative platform dedicated to curating examples of debunked viral rumors and providing analyses and tips to help teach the public how to be savvier consumers of information online.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Research and Design (formerly Education).

About the position

NLP’s research and design team drives the development of our student- and public-facing resources, including interactive learning experiences for the Checkology virtual classroom, our weekly email newsletters, quizzes, infographics and other resources. This position offers an opportunity to join this creative team and to lead the development and expansion of NLP’s viral rumor rundown blog, a curated collection of viral rumors accompanied by news literacy tips and resources. This is a virtual role with infrequent travel required, including two staff retreats per year.

Compensation and benefits

This is a full-time position. The starting annual salary for this role is approximately $70,000.
