We are looking for an experienced Content & Engagement Lead to write engaging stories and content packages (words, visuals, audio) that will promote MITRE’s national impact and illustrate how we deliver on our mission of Solving Problems for a Safer World.
This role requires top-notch storytelling, editorial, project management and interpersonal skills. Collaborate with marketing leads, enterprise communications, and stakeholders to build content and creative assets for both external and internal audiences that align to business priorities, deliver on brand voice, and drive engagement.
Brainstorm, outline, and write original content and marketing materials that speak to MITRE’s legacy, brand, and mission.
Introduce and help shape new storytelling experiences across internal and external websites, social media, paid media, video, and podcasts.
Synthesize complex, highly technical subject matter into consumable, engaging content suited for various channels and audiences.
Collaborate with colleagues across Strategic Communications and Enterprise Communications to develop content strategies in support of marketing and communications plans, editorial calendar, and cross-cutting initiatives and special projects.
Collaborate with Digital Marketing team on how best to leverage data and audience insights to make editorial decisions.
Work with Data & Insights team to track and measure content performance and adjust strategy to meet marketing and communications goals.
Ensure that every piece of content brings value to its intended audience, whether that’s customers, partners, or current/future talent.
Consistently meet deadlines and cross-departmental campaign timelines.
Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with busy, passionate stakeholders. You build key relationships, uncover expertise, find the most meaningful stories to tell, and connect the dots
Creative yet detail-oriented content author with excellent writing and communications skills

Keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks and stakeholders simultaneously, often under pressure and on deadline
Comfortable interfacing with stakeholders at all levels and able to provide status updates, including progress and any adjustments that may occur across multiple campaigns
Strong project management, people management, time management, organizational and listening skills
Comfortable working independently and within teams and able to adapt easily to changing environments
