Northern California & Pacific Northwest Commercial Real Estate Reporter (FULL TIME)
The Registry is currently taking applications for a full-time commercial real estate reporter with a focus on the Northern California and Pacific Northwest markets. Operating across the west coast markets for more than fifteen years, The Registry is looking for an enthusiastic writer that will help us with coverage of the Bay Area, Seattle and Portland submarkets.
Potential candidates must have strong writing, research and communication skills. Candidates must also be strong self-starters, dependable and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment. Range of coverage will include property transactions, market overviews and architectural/design features, among others. This is a dynamic role that continuously evolves and may require candidates to quickly change or pick up tasks with short notice.
This position will report to the Managing Editor. Opportunities to partake in multiple forms of media, such as webinars and podcasts, are also available.
Ability to write clean copy and submit multiple stories for publication daily.
Source imagery for related articles, as needed.
Must be confident in pursuing and establishing relationships with commercial real estate professionals across the regions.
Persistent in following up on leads, as well as conducting and scheduling interviews.
Relentless in researching and sourcing primary information through the use of public documents, press releases and daily newswires.
Successful candidates will be able to be flexible, as coverage of city meetings, breaking news items and events outside of traditional working hours are sometimes required.
Must be able to accept instruction and editing suggestions from editors.
Opportunity to cover other markets--such as Southern California--as needed.
This is a work-from-home position. The Registry will consider applications from across the United States.
Prior writing or journalism experience or education preferred.
Must be able to produce fair, unbiased reporting.
Demonstrated ability to multitask.
