The Sr. Director, Technical Program Management will be part of Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Engineering and Operations team and will work closely with other technology teams engaged in projects for transforming content operations, realizing the promise of NextGenTV, and bringing a cross-platform perspective to advertising technology.

Your role as Sr. Director, Technical Program Management is to manage our programs and initiatives with a team of internal and external resources who will define, shape, and deliver the technology to reinvent our media supply-chain operations.  You’ll work with a diverse group of strategic thinkers and problem-solvers to quickly evaluate, analyze, and track media supply-chain transformation from ingest and content management through assembly and distribution.  You’ll oversee continuous improvement and manage the delivery of new functionality in the form of roadmaps and milestones, supporting all content types and distribution channels.

The Sr. Director, Technical Program Management will be part of Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Engineering and Operations team and will work closely with other technology teams engaged in projects for transforming content operations, realizing the promise of NextGenTV, and bringing a cross-platform perspective to advertising technology.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively managing the value stream for media technology transformation by coordinating complicated technology initiatives
  • Managing and delivering large programs by working with project teams, assessing engagement risks, driving conclusions, and reviewing/challenging the output produced by the teams
  • Helping to grow and develop teams through hands-on training and coaching
  • Understand and consult on resource allocation, contention and re-alignment as program strategies require
  • Measuring progress using balanced scorecard practices

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Connect the dots between strategic priorities and help others do the same
  • Refine and communicate expected outcomes of media and operations technology transformation initiatives 
  • Develop, leverage, and maintain balanced scorecard practices for program management
  • Work with external consultants to ensure financial planning and strategy artifacts are created in a form that align to or facilitate executable value streams
  • Effectively communicate and monitor progress and changes in strategic programs and initiatives
  • Provide excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to organize, conceptually interpret and communicate material developed collaboratively with the input of multiple parties
  • Collaborate with leaders and strategic partners to drive alignment and execution
  • Ensure automation solutions are implemented to efficiently manage value stream realization
  • Be enthusiastic about understanding and learning new technologies and creative in their application

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a business or technology focus
  • 10+ years of program/project experience in technical/engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience to structure and analyze complex technology and business problems
  • Advanced data management skills
  • Strong program management with the ability to deliver results through complex cross-functional, cross-geography teams
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills with technology and operations teams as well as senior management
