Bally Sports Detroit is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join their team on a part-time basis in the Detroit area.

Bally Sports Detroit is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join their team on a part-time basis in the Detroit area. As the Social Media Coordinator, your responsibilities will include working closely with existing staff and posting content to various social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube) during sporting events such as the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. This is a freelance position offering between 15-25 hours per week with a start date on/around January 15, 2022.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Live video editor clipping and posting of broadcasts on Bally Sports Detroit
  • Post screengrabs, GIFs and videos to engage users/viewers and drive streaming/tune-in during live sporting events on social
  • Gathering content from in arena during home events
  • Create non game day content (graphics and video) surrounding Bally Sports Detroit
  • Assist in providing daily and in-game social media content to boost overall coverage (including linear TV shows and events)
  • Research and understand the history of Detroit sports teams to create relevant social content, including old interviews, birthdays, anniversaries, and classic games
  • Monitor social media for news from and about Detroit sports teams and coaches
  • Promote brand and team initiatives as needed
  • Assist in clipping and posting Michigan High School football content and shoulder programming

 YOU WILL NEED:

  • Production, Communications, Journalism, Marketing undergraduate track required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in social media, production, communications, or marketing
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, which will primarily include nights and weekends
  • Strong level of professionalism and understanding of working media guidelines
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Deep understanding and love of Detroit sports teams
  • Familiarity with Bally Sports Detroit’s programming, talent, and brand initiatives
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • A strong handle of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and a Twitter voice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen editorial sense
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to be detailed-oriented and a proactive and a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on deadline
  • Always connected and tuned into the latest Detroit sports news
  • Photoshop knowledge is a MUST
  • Basic understanding and familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Photography and Motion Graphics experience is a plus
  • Passion for social media and evolution of technology
