Description:
Serious about journalism? So are we. TribLive is hiring a reporter who values accuracy, urgency and the responsibility that comes with the job — and wants to do that work in a growing Pittsburgh newsroom.

This is a role for a journalist who treats reporting as a craft. You should be competitive, curious and committed to getting it right and getting it first. We’re looking for someone who can move quickly on breaking news while also developing the sources, context and judgment needed for deeper enterprise and accountability reporting.

You’ll be based in our North Shore newsroom, covering Pittsburgh and Allegheny County as part of a collaborative, experienced team. The Tribune-Review and TribLive.com are expanding coverage in the city and investing in journalism that reaches a broad and engaged audience.

Pittsburgh offers the advantages of a major metro — passionate readers, strong institutions and no shortage of news — with a cost of living that makes it an attractive place to build both a career and a life.

The Tribune-Review has been named Best Overall Newspaper in five of the past seven years by the Pennsylvania chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Our platforms include daily and weekly newspapers, magazines and TribLIVE.com, the region’s most-visited news website.

What you'll do

  • Pitch and produce a variety of content ranging from daily news to long-term, in-depth enterprise stories.
  • Build and maintain sources that lead to exclusive reporting.
  • Engage with readers on social platforms and use digital tools to identify story leads and sources.
  • Incorporate data and public records to add depth and clarity.
  • Collaborate with editors, photographers and designers to strengthen storytelling.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
  • At least two years of daily journalism experience.
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately on multiple platforms and on deadline.
  • Solid command of grammar, AP style and journalistic standards.
  • A competitive nature, collaborative spirit and passion for news.

Interested candidates should apply at www.tribtotalmedia.com/jobs. A cover letter and at least three samples of your work are required. If you have questions about this position, email Luis Fabregas, Executive Editor, at lfabregas@triblive.com
