Description:

Looking for a few, good journalists

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is looking for some night-owl journalists who are detail-oriented. We are a tightknit group all focused on putting out the best newspaper we can under deadline pressure. Every night is like getting paid to play a real-world video game with the clock ticking the whole time. At the end of the night, we have a good newspaper and a satisfying feeling of accomplishment.

This job is on our news copy/design desk. You’ll need a journalism degree or relevant experience to be considered for it. You should also have a strong vocabulary, know grammar and be able to sum up stories that you read so you can write accurate headlines.

If you ever plan to write the great-American novel, this job should be great training for that! You’ll learn so much about words and their meanings.

We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, meaning you’ll show up on time, work hard and learn from your mistakes.

If you have used Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, that’s a big plus.

Interested? Send your resume to styler@adgnewsroom.com.
