American Essence is looking for history writers on a contract basis.

About Us

American Essence, a member of the Bright Magazine Group, is a new and fast-growing monthly human interest magazine sharing stories about the people, places, and influences that embody the ideals and virtues forming our land of liberty. We highlight people and stories that embody traditional culture and universal values, with the intention to refresh our readers and provide hope amid today’s world.

History writers will be responsible for sourcing, pitching, and writing engaging stories on a variety of topics that can uplift and inspire. Articles must be oriented toward a broad audience, not specialists or scholars. We cover American history through 1988. Some topic areas: Founding Fathers; Presidents and VPs; The Constitution; The Declaration Of Independence; Important Speeches; Monuments, Statues, Memorials; Inventors and Innovators; Explorers and Pioneers; Business Builders and Entrepreneurs

The ideal candidate has a strong narrative sense and excellent research, interviewing, and writing skills. The ability to approach stories and subjects with a magnanimous spirit is a great plus.
