Description:

Professional Program Coordinator

Arizona State University

Journalism & Mass Communication

Campus: Downtown Phoenix

71830BR

Job Description

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University—one of the nation’s premier professional journalism and strategic communications programs—is seeking a program coordinator to ensure the success of the Cronkite School’s immersive learning programs and elevate student work. The Cronkite School is known for its “teaching hospital” education model, in which students learn by doing real work in immersive environments; we call those our “professional programs.” The program coordinator will collaborate with advisers and faculty to manage the application and placement processes for these programs, working to ensure students align with opportunities that drive their career goals. The coordinator will also serve as a champion of the student content created within those programs, elevating exemplary journalism and communications work both inside and outside the school. The Cronkite School is proud that its students have won more student awards than any journalism school in the country, and we strive to continue that tradition: The coordinator will oversee all local, national and international contest entries, working to surface commendable work and facilitate its recognition.

Applicants must apply online through Kenexa by submitting the following:

1) a cover letter

2) resume;

3) contact information (name, address, email, telephone number) for three professional references;

All finalists will be asked to submit a diversity statement that addresses their experience and commitment to social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion over the course of their careers and outlines how they would advance DEI goals at the Cronkite School. The statement should be no longer than 500 words.
