TRANSPORT TOPICS, the transportation industry’s award-winning news weekly and website covering trucking and freight transportation, is seeking an, aggressive, innovative, social media savvy Government  Reporter. The incumbent will cover state and federal news that affects TT’s audience of owners and managers of trucking companies, as well as vendors, service providers, industry analysts, Capitol Hill staff and government regulators. As a member of our collaborative newsroom, you will coordinate with other reporters and senior editors to ensure that all relevant angles of a story are covered.
 

In this role you’ll develop a reporting beat in consultation with the editors and develop contacts and sources throughout that beat; establishing expertise in assigned subjects. You’ll tailor and supplement news content for social distribution, and use social platforms to attract new audiences and increase engagement.
